Purpose:

The 10 Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training Program is intended to provide entry level construction workers general awareness on recognizing and preventing hazards on a construction site.  The training covers a variety of construction safety and health hazards which a worker may encounter at a construction site.  OSHA recommends this training as an orientation to Occupational Safety and Health. Workers must receive additional training on hazards specific to their job. Participants will be issued cards verifying course completion. Refresher training is recommended to maintain awareness of changes in OSHA regulations.  Course available in English and Spanish.

Course Content:

  • Introduction to OSHA
  • OSHA Focus Four Hazards - including:  Fall Protection, Electrical, Struck By, Caught in / between
  • Personal Protective and Lifesaving Equipment
  • Health Hazards in Construction - including:  Hazard Communication and Silica

  •  Materials Handling, Storage, Use and Disposal
  • Tools - Hand and Power
  • Scaffolds
  • Cranes, Derricks, Hoists, Elevators, and Conveyors
  • Excavations
  • Stariways and Ladders
  • Other OSHA construction hazards or policies.
