The Building Performance Institute, Inc. (BPI) is the nation's premier standards development and credentialing organization for residential energy efficiency retrofit work.  BPI training is ideal for those who work hands on in the construction and remodeling industries.

 

BAOS is currently offering the following BPI certification training:

 

BPI Building Analyst ( 5 Days – 40 Hours):  Nation's most widely recognized energy auditor certification for residential homes.  For professionals that are starting out in the energy auditing industry.  Students will learn how to perform an energy audit on residential buildings and provide recommendations based on the audit.  This training includes classroom and field training, and BPI certification exams.  Advanced specialty certifications after BPI Building Analyst include:  Envelope, Multi- Family, Heating, and AC/Heat Pump. 

 

BPI Envelope Professional: ( 2 Days – 16 Hours)  Specialization course focusing on ways to enhance the building envelope's thermal and pressure boundaries through insulation and air sealing techniques. The BPI Envelope certification along with BPI Building Analyst certification will make your company eligible to apply for BPI accreditation.   Prerequisite:  BPI Building Analyst 1.

Multifamily – Building Analyst: Specialization course prepares you to analyze multi-family units/buildings.  Prior experience with Multi-family housing recommended.  Course covers boiler system analysis, building envelope analysis, audit reporting and analysis. The Multifamily Building Analyst certification along with Building Analyst certification will make your company eligible to apply for BPI accreditation and start gaining access to state and local incentives.
